It is an honor for me to be on the board of directors of the Iranian Society of Weed Science (ISWS). At the outset, let me sincerely thank the ISWS members for electing a new and dynamic Board. You have entrusted a big responsibility on us and we assure you that the new team will use all available domestic and international capabilities for the development of scientific activities and the role of authority of ISWS that initiated in 2002 by the founding fathers, M. H. Rashed Mohasel (Ferdowsi U. Mashhad), M. A. Baghestani(Iripp), H. Rahimian Mashhadi(Tehran U.), H. Ghadiri (Shiraz U.), H. Alizadeh(Tehran U.), J. Asghari(Gilan U.), H. Moosavinia(Chamran U.) and other members. I congratulate and welcome the newly elected Board members, Dr. M. T. Ale-Ebrahim (Ardabil U.), Dr. M. Rastgoo (Ferdowsi U. Mashhad), Dr. A. Atri (Iripp), Dr. E. Elahifard (Khozestan U.) and Dr. E. K. Monfared as Vice-President, Member, Treasurer , Secretary and Inspector, respectively.
